CS Kubon hardness

just talking in another post that I picked one up and gave it a sharpen on the dmt diamond stones and it was hard! very hard! what do these run at on average? anyone tested one to see. not used it enough to see edge retention but the diamonds skated across it rather than cutting deep into the steel... BTY it is AUS8 Taiwan made one I think...

I just sharpened one of my kobuns after using it hard last weekend. It sharpened up like I’d expect from aus8 at about 58 hrc. I’ve seen it listed as 56-58 hrc, but all of mine seem to be on the harder end of that, except for the 420 version that is a bit softer.
