I'm planning on buying a 2-piece cue. Are Mali Cues any good? They make some nice looking cues that aren't too expensive. What is the best weight to buy? Does anyone know of any 8-ball forums setup similar to Bladeforums, etc.?

I haven't played any serous pool in a years. But when I did, Mali was my weapon of choice. I have done some "purty work" with the one I have. It's been sitting in it's case just waiting for the day that it will be called for duty again. Another good one that I've used is a Meucci. It belonged to the guy I played with all the time. Sometimes we would trade cue for a few games. The Meucci is a bit more expensive than the Mali. But I still prefer my Mali!!!!!

As far as what weight to get, everyone is different. IMHO lighter is better, but not too light. It's easier too hit hard with a light cue than too hit lightly with a heavy cue.

I have a Huebler 20 oz that I am quite happy with.
No a big bucks cue like Meucci, but it works for me.
I guess you could think of it like a Greco or Dozier knife.
A little short on fancy and long on function.

I shot with a Meucci, personally I didn't care for it. The stick felt a little 'springy' or whippy. Maybe that's a good thing (break stick...9 ball???), but didn't work for me.

I can still hear ol' Barney (with the giant boil on his head) saying...
"Hey kid, ya shoot hard... ya sleep in the street."

I have shot pool for a long time with many cues.

My weapon of choice is a Predator cue; brakes harder and shoots straighter.

The shaft is made up of 10 pie shaped pieces which are put together for a very stiff shaft; less flex than other shafts.

Predator shafts are made for most cues.

I preffer synthetic to the wood ques, if your a bit sweaty the que can stick to ur hand (i usually put que chalk between thumb & forefinger) whereas using a synthetic cue all but elininates the 'tackky' problem.
