First of all I wanna say that Im certainly not looking for opinions on the show ( I happen to love it and don't miss an episode )

Now from watching the show I believe he uses a 4 layer model, and it definitely has scissors and pliers. They show his grandfather giving it to him as a kid which may or may not mean something, but I do think it's always the same model because it always has the scissors and pliers and never seems bigger.
The scissors , blade, and pliers are all we really see him use so that might not help too much.

I'm thinking it's either a deluxe tinker or deluxe Spartan but I'd love to hear what you guys think.

he uses many different ones throughout the show (both the original and the new one),
In the new series, on the first episodes, he uses a Climber (1st Episode), Camper and Ranger (3rd Ep.), Deluxe Tinker, Explorer (5ht Ep.), Evolution S557, and many others!

in the original show he used a total of 21 SAKs

Honestly have only watched the show one time. I seldom make time to view a specific TV show that is scheduled. I tend to be more of a check the channels and choose something person. If I am not watching something, either the weather channel or a news channel is on (usually CNN or Fox) if I'm home. But I have been watching the new Gold Rush season and we're on episode #2 this past Friday. Really like that show although sometimes it gets a bit boring. Trucks, dozers, excavators, and a drudge... all man toys.

Hmm, good things know.
I guess I was wrong about it being the same.

It's a real shame that they they think their viewers know so little about Vic's, why would they use so many different ones when the story is that he was given it as a kid by his grandfather. I know most people won't know any better, but why even make it out like he always carries one particular knife.

I watch the show sometimes. IIRC, I've seen episodes where he lost his SAK, so my assumption is that while his grandfather gave him his first SAK, but since then he's had many others through necessity.

I do believe that the majority of viewers are probably not SAK connoisseurs, so the vast majority would have no idea of the various SAK models. I also think it depends on what tool(s) they want him to use in a given episode. Then most non-knife viewers will just assume the same knife has all these different tools regardless.

Advertising. The more models they show, the more models they help Victorinox sell. Product placement on TV and in movies is huge, and manufactures pay for it.
