Current US Army Issue pocket knife?

standard issue? to whom. it depends on where ya go. as for 99% of the military, noone gets a knife automatically. as far as the old camillus, dont worry about those. if they want em, theyll just dip into their wharehouses, and ship a couple boxes. we dont buy things in hundreds, but hundreds of thousands. Im sure they still have a lot left somewhere. as for other nsn knives, theres a few benchmades, and some leathermans too. anything else, and I would only be guessing. mayby sog? mission? gerber?

I've seen Comm guys with issue Benchmade autos, and wiremen with issue Gerber multitools, for what its worth. The closest thing to a "general issue" knife in the Marines is the OKC bayonet that hit the Fleet in 2004 or so.

The knife you posted a link to is far from being "current US Army". Camillus probably made millions of the all-steel pocket knives starting in the 60's up through the 70's, so I'll bet there are plenty of old stock on shelves. Lots of vets remember them along with their black Timex watches. These knives went they way of C-rations, P-38s and pry-off bottle caps. They are pretty mediocre pocket knives - very uncomfortable to use with the steel scales. I have a US one I got back in 'the 70s from my dad. The edge has a round chip from prying on something; I sharpened the inside of the crescent chip and it made a great line cutter (a big serration - sort of). Mine lives in my tool box and I still use it to open bottles. Mine is beat to hell but it's priceless to ME. Since Camillus went out of business, the prices have gone from under $10 in 2006 to over $30 this year. I think you'd be nuts to buy one, but each to his own. Just google 'military surplus' and you'll find places selling them. For example, gr8ear.com still has the USMC version of the knife you are looking for. Lots of places still have them along with the USAF survival knives (the ones that have a sharpening stone in the leather sheath).

thats about right on the money , when i deployed with 28 th trans to bosnia in 95 we were given gerber mulitools after most broke they gave us a leatherman

when i left for Kosovo with 28 th Trans BN i was given a benchmade auto and new supertool .. still use both today .

I was issued a gerber multitool once it was a POS I bought myself a Lm Supertool instead

Still have the supertool but now carry a LM Charge XTi

Spyder that was my first knife, I found it at a boyscouts campout when i was about 8 yrs old. It was dated 1967. I still have it. I just bought a new one from BrigadeQuartermasters a few months ago, it is dated 2001 on the blade. I bought it because i heard Camillus is closeing down. I like the little knife, its a great Scout knife. It brings back alot of Memories....Get one while u can if you like the History.

I had a mint one, and I think I gave it to my nephew when he was a scout.I just asked him if he still had it.I'll have to get it back from him.It either said US or USMC, can't remember.
