I was at woodcraft today, and came across a piece of wood labeled "Patagonia Rosewood". apparently this is also referred to as "Curupay" .... although I really can not find a lot of references or information to it in use as knife handles. Pretty dense, and kind of a nice striation between lighter and very dark grain. does anyone have any experience with this wood???

Also used it and liked it. I also got it at a similar woodworking store they had some sale going on.

I used to sell the burls.

Its a dense, hard Exotic from Brazil, Mechanically very similar to something like Ipe. Just dont trust that its dry.

Indeed Never trust the moisture. It measured at 6-7% when I got it home (yes, I did go back to buy it :-). )
