I have decided that I'm going to order a custom slipjoint, preferably a barlow. I'd like to get either bone or micarta scales, probably going to go with micarta, and a long pull spear blade. Half stop of course. A bolster would be a nice touch. About the size of the Charlow knives. Probably a basic steel like D2 or 154CM, maybe even CPM154.

I've got a couple makers in mind, but I would specifically like to see just your custom barlows. Single blade, two blade. Any blade shapes, any combos, any scales, I just want to see your custom barlows. I would like to keep it under $500 so any suggestions regarding makers that are accepting orders and are under that amount are appreciated. Still, share any of your custom barlows.

Makers please feel free to share your barlows.

Check with J. Oeser.

I his Barlows are fantastic!

I know for a fact he also has a grandad barlow pattern drawn up! Though I changed my mind to a large gunstock.

I have no idea, but Jared Oeser is a good one.

This is the knife that first piqued my interest in barlows.

Christian, if I could I definitely would get that one. That is exactly what I am after!

I'd have to trade my entire collection for that. Or my truck.

Hmmm...

TA Davison 299, 334 and 346

He'll have to help with the pics.

Jack, RL Smith was one of my first thoughts, and Kris, Gene Wiseman was probably the first. I had asked Gene a couple months ago about a barlow. Gene, I need to get in touch with you. Todd Davison is a definite want on my list, but I believe he's over my limit. I will have to check with him on the barlow pattern though.

I'm sure you'll find something great Dan, some incredible knives being produced right now :)

I would aslo recommonend Ray Smith for a Barlow.

Lightning fast turn around too.. you may find that it could take a while for delivery for a custom knife...

That is a beauty ISK, ray makes a great knife and spalted maple is one of my favorite woods.

Rob, that's a cool take on the barlow pattern, gotta love a long pull spear. My favorite blade for sure.

I've gotten to stand in front of Rays table at the late Chesapeake show. His barlows are amazing. Keep them coming.
