I'm in the market for a Tomahawk and I'm looking at Pap's custom and Walk By Faith currently. Pap's Hawks look amazing but they are out of my price range so that leaves my with WBF, which have wonderful looking axes too. Who else should I consider? I'm a bit out of the loop with custom axe makers.

Daado in the Knifemakers market just sold a nice one and is making more. I have two of his knives in 52100 and love 'em. He really has the H.T. down on the 52100 and his prices are always reasonable and a nice guy to deal with.

H&B seems like a great value/cost ratio

someday, when I get my act a little more together, I have promised myself I'll get a couple from WalkByFaith777

I really like his work

people do seem to have good luck rehanging super cheap-o CS hawks, don't they?

I seem to remember reading how rehanging a hawk is a little trickier than an axe, but I've done neither at this point, so beyond my little world of comprehension

It's much easier to properly hang a hawk than an axe.

2Hawks is a good way to test the waters. The Longhunter at $125 is a great value IMHO.

Agreed! I have a Longhunter. Its performed flawlessly. good luck getting it off the handle though. I think he uses a hydraulic press to eat the heads

I'm going to second H&B forge. I have a large polled hawk that I beat up pretty good this year and have been very happy with it's performance.

Another vote for 2Hawks. I've been using a Warbeast for almost ten years, it's never failed to do what I've needed. Even makes a decent ulu! To be fair, in that role the handle is somewhat ungainly, and it's not my first choice. Might pick up a Longhunter soon...

cardman does commendable work fwiw

if only I could afford one of his hawks after picking up one of his ax

oh those horribly impulsive purchases I do not regret
