My daughters have expressly told me they have no desire to ever acquire my collection of hunting and tactical knives, but they would like my cast iron cookware. That got me thinking that they might appreciate a good kitchen knife that their dad spent many years using. After many months of asking questions here, researching makers, and debating with myself, I finally pulled the trigger on a set of kitchen knives, and they arrived very recently. These were made by Tom Buckner of Olympia, WA. Blades are CPM S35VN, bolsters 416 SS, and scales are green canvas micarta with black G10 liners. The accent is a dog paw mosaic pin. Fit and finish are superb, they have a good weight in the hand while feeling very agile, and Tom has an excellent understanding of distal taper. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
