I was perusing Joel Pirelas website recently and realized that he is not a knife maker from what it seems just a designer I think. So taking a que from him :cool:I have been experimenting lately sketching out and designing my own custom knives. I'm not a knife maker by any means and am sure I lack the know how and ability to actually make my own knives, but I was wondering if anyone out there had some ideas on good makers that could bring my designs to life. For the most part I have sketched folders so far but I thought I might start drawing some fixed blade designs soon. Not really sure of many makers out there taking custom orders these days let alone orders based on designs not of there own creation.

i had my custom design made by phillip patton. best knife i own by FAR :thumbup:

from photoshop pic to blade in hand, phillip couldn't have made it any more exact :D

Ask Stephen Foster to show his his computer drawing of a bowie that was subsequently made (brilliantly) to his specs by Rodrigo Sfredddo. Great example of maker and customer working together.

Not a fixed blade, but I just did the same. From my design to finished product done by Elvan Allred...
I think you'd be surprised by how many makers would take on your challange/your design.

photoshop is awesome if you know how to use it. i don't so that's why i did it old school with the virtual paintbrush and eraser and many, MANY hours trying to gets the curves just right... crazy tiring, but SUPER FUN :D
