In keeping with my current mass liquidation of my collection, here are some great quality fixed blades.
First up is a custom large bowie by Bryan Teal, made in 1992. It features a convex ground 10" carbon steel blade that's 0.225" thick. Full tang construction, brass guard and cocobolo grips. Light handling marks but never used or carried. $400CAD plus shipping of your choice.
Next is a custom bowie by ABS MS James Porter. This knife was made in late 80s or early 90s when James was still a JS. He was one of the pioneers in modern forging and Damascus making, and was regarded as a great mentor of knifemakers back in the 90s. James passed away in 1998. This bowie has a forged Damascus blade that's 8" long and 0.2" thick. Damascus guard and tail plate, cocobolo handle. Knife is in mint condition, and is priced at $OLD plus shipping of your choice.
Next is a custom fighter by Phillip Patton. It's twisted pattern made from 5160 and 15N20. It's a beautiful beautiful fighter blade that's sharp on both sides. 8" blade that's 0.25" thick. Handle is made from stabilized desert ironwood with beautiful grains. $1000CAD plus shipping of your choice.
Now a couple of production fixed blades. Spyderco South Fork and SOG Tigershark Elite. Both were very popular when they were available and both have been long discontinued. Both knives are brand new and comes with everything from the factory. The South Fork is priced at $450CAD and the Tigershark Elite is priced at $OLD.
Anthony Griffin Large Flipper, $OLD shipped. True to its name, this folder by Mr. Griffin is LARGE. the blade length is 4.75" and it has a broad profile. It's been acid washed through and through, and is made of CPM 3V for toughness, as the design was originally meant for outdoor use. The overall length of this knife is 11". Below also shows how it compares in size to a large Sebenza.
Eddie Baca and Liong Mah KUF (Kitchen Utility Folder), $750CAD shipped. This is a beautiful collaboration between genius knife designer Liong Mah and knifemaker Eddie Baca. It's got a lot of interesting features, but most notably, it's got a 4" blade with just an overall length of 8.5". The pivot is located as high as humanly possible, and the blade to handle ratio has been absolutely maximized. The blade is double hollow ground S30V that's been hand rubbed to a satin finish. For those who have done it, you'll understand how difficult and labour intensive it is to do a proper hand rubbed satin finish like this, especially with S30V. The handle is solid 6Al4V titanium, and is quite thick with an orange peel finish. This knife packs a lot of refined labour work in an affordable package.
