Hello everyone, I’m looking for members on here that make custom scales. But, after the ShepardCC and spketch Incidents I’m left wondering how many good ones are left here. If you have any, please leave your recommendations down below. Thanks.

Aratech and Suingab, possibly Cuscadi. Mentioning more than names would be against the rules if I am not mistaken.

this is begging for someone with a 3d printer to fill the demand... I have been flirting with getting one for like 5 years, but keep waiting for the next better version, but now days you can 3d print wood and metal

What knife would they be for?

Speaking of scales. Does Keyman on here ever reply to people? He ignored both times I asked him about work he did.:oops:

6 years, 250+ scales, 0 negative feedback and still going strong. Not all scalemakers on this site have flaked out, but my how things have changed in the pimp game. Depending on what you need there are still several great service providers here....in fact, there is a whole services offered section;-)

I believe I was the first person to offer aftermarket gips on a regular basis, and have been doing so for over 10 years. I only make grips for Benchmade Griptilians. I sell complete, new knives with my Titanium grips for the Spyderco Endura and have done Delica grips in the past. (The Enduras are difficult for many folks to take apart and put back together.) I don't copy factory grips, all my grips are my own design and still fit the base knife perfectly. I make them in my shop on my 2 Haas CNC milling machines. There is a lot of hand work that also goes into these grips. A lot of hand work. I'm also the only source in the world for aftermarket torsion springs for Griptilian folders.

I do not offer custom services because I do this for a living and have to make money at it. I think the reason quite a few folks went under trying to make "custom" grips was because they lost money on every set they sold. I'm not Warren Buffet but I can tell you from experience that when you loose money on what you sell, high sales volume don't help. It makes it worse.

I only sell from stock: You see what you want on my site, place your order and pay, then I ship immediately. No waiting; no BS stories; no run around. There are not many production knives on the market that have a large enough base of sold knives to make it worthwhile to develop and design aftermarket grips. Believe me, I hope Benchmade never stops production of the Griptilian series! ;-)

I have Kevin Wilkins Kevin Wilkins scales on my matching pair of large and small Ritter Griptilians. They totally change the ergos of those knives in a very positive and alternative way. If you like the style of his scales, I highly recommend them. Kevin is a good guy and a pleasure to do business with..

I get if somebody is busy or has full books or whatever, but not even replying a 5 second email/PM in a month time span is just bad form. Even if it's a "I don't take new clients/projects" or something along those lines, or if it's a permanent "I work on my own schedule, please no inquiries" on their profile/signature, if somebody has a matching account here I at least somewhat assume they offer those services.

I actually asked him in a thread on the BM forum about how to go about getting a set for a Barrage.
He gave me his e mail addy and said to hit him up. That was as far as I got.

One step closer to success? :D It irks me a little but at this point it's best to just ignore the matter, I got no intention to support people who lack common courtesy.

I've used Six Three Blade Worx and was happy with the service. Not sure if he's a member on the forum or not...
