Cutting board cracking

Is there anyway to salvage it? It is due to the dry air here.
I was told that I could soak it to expand it a little but I do not think that it would be sufficient to fill the crack line.
It comes with a 1 inch stainless band that I can tighten with a bolt to hold it by the circumference.

If I cannot expand the cracks, what can i do to prevent it from extending? Perhaps I can jigsaw it flat on the cracked area?

bore a round hole to cut out the crack. exposy a good round piece of wood to plug the hole. Also you can do wedge/square/poly shape and attach the handle there (by designed ;)).

I've 4 of these round tree trunk board, they are quite inexpensive (less than $20/piece). A less hassle way to fix it.

I agree with bluntcut, you could try to fix it by boring a hole, but it will not swell back together by soaking. Cut it down to a different size, or get a new one. Those single piece boards are prone to cracking regardless.

As a side note, I put a coating of mineral oil on my board every other week, and more in the winter.
