Well I never really thought that I would need to cut glass with a knife but early Wed moring the need arose. I was collecting evidence from a recent burglary and i needed to remove a section of the glass door. The glass had been pulled back from a hole punched in it and there was a good chance that there were finger prints on the glass. So I just cut along where the glass had cracked a little and I wound up taking half of the door. I was really surprised that the blade held up as well as it did. The edge was damaged but nothing that can't be fixed on my sharpmaker. Just in case you are wondering, I used a BM mini-AFCK. I really di not even expect it to work.

Hello,

Any knife with hard outstanding carbides in it can cut glass. I used the back (one of the points of the false edge) of my Spyderco native in CPM 440V. Cuts glass. But I think it is easier to use a buck 110 and install a diamond pine or something in the butt. I already did this once for someone who wanted to cut glass quickly. I went to my grinding-and-other-stuff shop, and they put 1.53 carat off diamonds in a 18/8 pin, shaped like a pencil, only smaller and thicker. I drilled a small hole in the butt of the buck 110 and welded it on. He's very pleased with it. If the diamond wear,I told him to sharpen only one side, like buckcote......hey wait, that should cut glass too. HRC of glass is 70. Buckcote = harder. carbides = harder. diamond = harder.
