Damascus Blade Knife with lilac tree handle

The blade of this knife is 115mm Damascus. The handle is made out of 3 different types of wood. The one towards the end of the handle is a lilac tree with an extremely interesting pattern and I had to cut it in a way that shows this star/flower in an interesting way. The rest of the handle materials are red and black fiber spacers, red stabilized wood, reindeer antler. The sheath is painted by my son, who has painted my sheaths before.

  • The knife without sheath: 230 mm / 9 inch
  • Blade: 115 mm / 4.5 inch
  • Handle: 115 mm / 4.5 inch

Simply outstanding.


I really like the likac handle. Is it typical for lilac to grow like this or is this some lucky oddity?
 
I believe it is a cross cut. I have messed around with lilac, it is interesting stuff.

The wood was given to me, but I have seen such patterns before, yes. Burls from the lilac tree are also very interesting.
