On You Tube, watched "DonVonGun Fire Cabin Bushcraft Build With Hand Tools (2) The Ground Structure". The man uses a Silky Saw to cut perpendicular into logs and then batons a DSI axe to make a shoulder at the end of the log. Handle cannot be longer than 18 inches, and the head of the axe is quite wide. Marking on the head of the axe looks like a longer, narrower football with DSI on the top of the football and a "2" underneath. The axe has a metal wedge that sticks at least 1/2 inch out of the head of the handle. Not sure if it is a good or a bad thing but the axe "Rings' every time he hits something like trimming a branch, rings and rings and rings. Anyone familiar with DSI axes? John

What, you didn't see my video already about this matter?

That's an interesting range in the notes off those axes. I used to play with the xylophones a bit when I set up orchestra pits at night, and now I want to have those axes lined up and see what kind of music would come out of them.

I’ve seen it. More than a couple of times, actually.
Here is an interesting video from his archives: The Ting Thing

A whole other take on the things we are agreed to use and appreciate. Some gauge by feel, some by sight, and others by resonance. If it it well-formed, made sharp, and used...
