Hi guys

I was wondering if we could have a list of all the makers here that are making knives? I tried searching but came out empty.

I know about Koster, JK etc and their knife makers forums here on BF, but all the others?
Note, companies are not included in this list.

Here is the hosted knife makers forum

Thanks guys. I updated the first post and will do a bit more detail and alphabetical later, have a few things to do.

It's nice that you went through the trouble ... and the 'bushcraft' patter of knife is very useful ...

But what makes these knives any different? For lack of a better word, the 'bushcraft' blade is just a generic knife - essentially as generic as physically possible. I'm sure ALL of those custom makers do a wonderful job of producing high quality versions of this cookie-cutter pattern, but for me I just have to wonder if it is worth all the fuss they seem to get.

Well I was thinking, you get numerous people asking for a bushcraft knife recommendation, yet there is no real list one can point him to where everything is consolidated. Go through the list to what appeals to the user.

Also many of these makers participate on the outdoor forum as well.

Do you only want BF participating makers?
Yes

How do you define a "bushcraft" knife? Unless you are limiting the definition to the standard Alan Wood Brit style Scandi ground full tang version, I think that a LOT of makers on here make knives of that general type, myself included. Don't be fooled by the fact that some of them may be labeled as "hunters" or " small camp knives"

Almost any maker participating in the outdoor forum.

Including yourself.

I have a broud term for a bushcraft knife and don't define it within a specific terms of reference.

I want people to be able to go to one thread to see what makers we have, they can click and see what the maker has to offer.

It's is a good idea Marthinus and I think it will be useful for many.

I also share your view that a Bushcraft knife can mean whatever every person wants it to mean to themself.
