My daughter's Polynesian dance group, Te Orama, went to the San Diego HEIVA competition this past weekend, they won first place in the Otea category, and second place in the Aparima category.

Otea

Aparima

FYI...the smaller the pic, the clearer it is. I used HD to record, but the upload I'm guessing, changed the resolution to a lower setting.

I'll try to upload to Youtube later this week, they support HD. Below is the Youtube upload of Te Orama in Kauai for HEIVA 2017, they came in first place for overall performance.

Congrats, I have a friend that competes in the competitions, I'm always amazed at how good the SD contestants are here.

Congrats to your daughter

Try as I might I couldn't pick her out. Moving around too much. Kind of fun looking.

I'm not giving up, I know she's in there, I'll keep watching till I find her. She's a few years older than the last time I seen her but I'll know her when I see her. Actually she's a lot older than the big fish picture but I seen some since then.
Any clues or quadrant locations I should focus on might be helpful.

Joe, you hilarious.

In Otea, she's in the group with Orange skirts - She's in the back row 2nd or 3rd from the right, and in the diamond formation, right in the middle in the middle row.
In Aparima - She comes out with the kids throwing the petals, and then she is dead center front.

She's the only one with pink glasses that are shaded, due to them being transitional lenses.

Probably better to view with your wife's facebook account. in the search parameters, put, "Richard Chang Te Orama SD HEIVA" and it should come up. That video is way clearer.

Grats cul! They musta worked hard to get that win! Keep them away from open flames;) They sure grow up fast dont they?

Thanks...yes, they worked very hard. They had to make their own costumes from scratch. First year my daughter did it, it took sooo long, she got frustrated several times, they did it from 3pm - 11.10pm, the day before the performances, which started at 8am, it was crazy that weekend.
