A few weeks ago, I mentioned a problem I had with my Meyerco 18XRAY. The next day, I received an email from Darrel Ralph. I gave Darrel a phone call and he told me to send the knife to him. I sent the knife to him and three days later, I received a package from Darrel. He sent me a brand new knife and a t-shirt. I know a lot of knife makers and knife companies have great customer service, but I appreciate Darrel responding to me from a post I made in thread on Blade Forums.

If you have a customer support story you would like to share, post it here.

THAT is OUTSTANDING SUPPORT!!!:thumbup::thumbup: I have heard DDR makes great knives, but with CS like this, I will have to save my pennies to get a custom of his!

hey im glad i saw this post, i actually just ordered myself a meyerco x-ray from bladehq. it looks like an awesome knife, can you give us a quick review?? what was the problem with yours ?

man, i recieved the x-ray today, i cant even believe how disappointing this knife is :( i paid $160 for this knife, it has the most incredible up and down, side to side blade play i ever seen on any knife, i dont think it can be fixed either. im shocked that this knife would be sent out in this kind of condition. not even cheap 10 dollar knives you buy at the liquor store have this kind of blade play. bad times, i was really looking forward to this one.

hmm now i see that just today a second run of the x-rays have been released, which claim to be higher quality than the fist run. now im even more disappointed lol ...

JW,

If you got that from us and you don't like it, no sweat. Just send it right back. No one should be stuck with something they don't like. The new Xray batch is truly top notch- it is worth the upgrade, in my opinion.

i did some work on it and was able to tighten up the blade play considerably. i think i will keep the knife, though i still think meyerco could have done a much better job for the price they ask on this knife.

the new ones look interesting though, can you tell us more about these? do they feel a bit more solid? what are the changes/upgrades ?

have the x-rays been popular btw ? seems like the first batch sold out rather quick.

Darrel is one of the most conscientious and responsive makers I have encountered. Several years ago I posted a comment concerning a DDR knife and Darrel went out of his way to get my contact information to talk with me for the sole purpose of insuring I ended up happy.
Darrel was a pleasure to talk with, extended an offer to tour his shop and took the time to discuss knives in general.
Yup, any knife that is connected to DDR will enjoy the benefit of knowing that should a problem or concern arise Darrel Ralph will do what he can to make the buyer happy!!!

Hi Cam,
I have a Meyerco 18-Xray and the blade is stuck in the open position. Normally when it is in the open state and you slide the LH safety button forward, it is easy to push in the round button on the other side. Currently, the button won't depress. Please let me know how I can remedy this issue.
Thanks,
George

12 year old thread my dude. This ain't the place for your issue. Try starting your own thread in General Knife Discussion or maybe Maintenance and Tinkering. Give more details. Possibly Pics. Did you contact the company, etc.....

Hi Craytab,
I can't find my receipt which is why I posted on this topic where they were mentioning good service by the manufacturer.
I could take pics but it wouldn't show anything but an open blade...
Thanks for the heads up.

No worries. I'm not sure if Meyerco is still in business and DDR may not be an option as Darrel Ralph just died. You were responding to bladeHQ which is a dealer, not sure they can help you either. I think your best bet might be to ask the forum out in a section better suited. This section is for feedback on companies, makers, members, and the business transaction with them.
