So I was recently in a Home Depot when I saw this tool. I will admit that this looks like the hardware equivalent of "mall ninja" but I can't deny it looks cool. Also I have done a little volunteer demo in the past and this looks like it might be useful. Anyone have any experience with it?

I'd feel safe with one of those by my bed :D

I bought one from The Deadon site. It was 50% off and $19.99 shipped. It is an imposing piece.

Depends on where you put it. With that spike on the bottom I don't want it hanging anywhere near where I'm standing let alone sleeping. Speaking of the spike: What would it be used for besides putting holes in plaster?

At 50% off, I took the plunge. Also ordered some small prybars and wrecking bars that I needed. With the sale and free shipping, I've got nothing to lose.

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm a desk man, so I won't be putting anything in my order to any immediate use or torture, but I need them for some assorted projects in the future and I figure they're good to keep around. I don't really care about the name or the image the tools are trying to project, I just figure they're currently a decent deal. I've wanted a Stanley FUBAR for a while but the price difference is significant with the sale.

ehh. I've tried a bunch of these demo tools and I always end up back with the only two tools I really need, a heavy rip hammer and a 10 pound sledge. Not a whole lot of demo I cant do with one of those.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my uses won't entail heavy demo and I'm looking for tools that can be kept in smaller places and be more portable than a 10 pound sledge. I don't doubt that what you say is 100% accurate for your uses though.

well this post just cost me some money! But I got 4 decent tools for $50 shipped, cannot complain about that!!

I do construction and I just ordered a bunch of stuff I (NEEDED) for work from the Dead on store and yes they have some great deals right now and they make pretty nice products .And yes both of the huge demo tools they make are very cool looking and I will probably buy both when money season(summer) comes back .Try answering the door with a hammer called the Death Stick;)

Time to resuscitate:

I bought this (18" model) at Home Depot and thought it would make a great tool for tearing apart a house I'm currently working on.

Oh yeah, this sucker kicks arse! Being heavier than a framing hammer, it pounds things apart quite nicely. The rip claw digs easily into sheetrock or paneling and removes from wall with ease.

The pointy end probably makes a pretty good icebreaker and general all-around penetrator tool, although I used it for prying apart baseboard or sills or 2x4s from the sheathing once you get something started with the claw.

I even used the board straightener fork once and it handled the lumber nicely. The curved edge cuts okay into sheetrock, but I wouldn't mind seeing this a little less obtuse.

Of course, if you want to take down beams or smash apart chimneys you are much better off with a 10 or 12 lb sledge hammer.

But for studs, paneling, sheetrock, baseboard, window sills, plates, trim and molding, it does a great job. Totally great tool and I heartily recommend it.

The only design flaws are minor ones: I wish the rip claw was a little bit longer like a regular hammer; and the curved edge was sharper and convexed.

I have had one for a couple years. Its a pretty decent rig. I use it for an alternate entry tool. I have used it tp break up as few things. It does the trick.
