You should periodically reproduce some of your older SP line of blades. I have a few that everybody always wants me to sell to them......but that ain't gonna happen.

SP-17 Quartermaster
SP-47 in 5160
SP-49 in 5160
SP-50 in 5160
SP-53 in 5160

It would also be great to have the SP-2 Air Force Survival knife in 5160 as well.

My wish list. Thanks

The Gen2 SP43 is my favorite “cutting” knife in the lineup. It’s pretty thin relative to the SP5.

I get a lot of joy using and playing with the SP lineup.

SP-2 in 1095 going for $38 right now on Amazon. SP-1 for $40!

the 1075 and 1095 stuff is great..but I just like 5160. ive had good results with it. like to see more models made in it.

Ordered a 8696 Buchcraft that is sitting in my Post Office currently.

I am pretty excited to see how it performs.

The larger brother Woodsman I have in 5160 has worked pretty good as a tool to lop off branches. Although the FFG did not like batoning wood much. It has a warp in the grind from a single piece of seasoned hardwood. I don’t use it for that anymore. Got another one in 420hc that sits in the box.

Picked this up today. Says it was made January of 2021. No steel designation.

Sheath is okay, it’s perfectly serviceable. I am comparing it to a favorite, the BK16 that I convexed and thinned the tip.

I was surprised on how thin it is.

Like...fillet knife, bendy kinda thin.

This side scale was shaped a bit too short.

Other side is fine.

Kinda ugly stamping, could use some sanding to clean it up.

Not too bad overall. I would absolutely not baton this thing, it’s basically a fillet knife. Which means it’s going to cut meat and soft media very well. I think this may replace the Mora Flex Fillet knife for venison meat processing duty. Came fairly sharp, though the secondary grinds are wonky.

I have no idea if this is 420hc or 5160. I’ll find out soon enough.
