Can you deassist the kershaw cryo 2 . I just got mine today and I love it, but I am not a big fan of assisted knives.

I could be wrong and don't want to fish mine out right now but I don't think there's a detent on the Cryo II. That would be an issue.

Since its a Kershaw, it should just be a simple torsion bar. The bar I'm in my scallion broke (found it in a parking lot after running it over with the 12000 pond front axle of the semi in my front yard AND after 3 more years of edc, it snapped) and I simply took th knive apart and removed it. My blade retention went with it though and mine won't flip anymore

Some Kershaws won't function properly without it and some work better without it.

I tried to do this on my knife, had to put it back. Would not flip good at all.

If you drill a detent (drill press and diamond burr), you can de-assist it just fine and still get blade retention and flipping - I have done this with my Thermite (though it needs tweaking). All depends on your level of handiness.

I owned one briefly and tried it. The knife simply does not work well as a manual flipper. Was really stiff and hard to operate without the torsion bar.
