this kind of story, (which played out a couple kilometers away from where I'm currently working) is what motivated me to design DEK1.
It's not some fanciful practac mall ninja knife, it's something that I want to carry in the field with me to use for regular stuff, but to also depend on JUST IN CASE

ordered some proper modeling clay today. This Fimo sucks ass. That said, I do like the sparkly purple colour
You obviously have been skimming material from your side gig at Doc Johnson.

If you don't mind my asking, was it buffed or unbuffed micarta? How long did the blood stay on the handle before you tried washing it off?... there is still a slight stain in the Micarta that didn't scrub out ... but guess it serves as a reminder ...
you never know when or what may happen ... why I carry concealed 99% of the time ...
Can appreciate that Tony. That said, JJ has shared that tale with us before and has always done so respectfully and with remorse that he had to do what he did to protect himself. Nothing wrong with liking his post for that.^^^"Liking" the above seems inappropriate. I'm glad it worked out in your favor. That is all.

The reason I ask, is because I was originally going to get one of the new FK2s with a G10 handle, specifically to eliminate the issue of the handle scales staining/absorbing blood when used for field dressing.
Then some posts popped up indicating that contrary to what I'd thought, micarta doesn't really absorb fluids, so I thought, "OK, maybe I'll go with micarta, seeing as Nathan says it's more abrasion resistant than G10" (and somehow, I just got lucky enough to get in on one of these new FKs on today's sale).
Your post is making me think I might be better off with the G10 after all.
I don't think so. I ”liked” the fact the outcome wasn't worse due to the fact he had his EDC2.^^^"Liking" the above seems inappropriate. I'm glad it worked out in your favor. That is all.
