I recently purchased a mini Delta Sheath direct from the manufacturers website and the owner sent me a defective sheath. The very front of the sheath had piece of the surface of the leather scratched off revealing the lighter grain below. Also, the sheath was specifically advertised that it supported scout carry for up to 1.5 inch wide belts with photos posted in his gallery, however, I couldn't get his sheath to fit my belts that are 1.5 inches. I contacted him via his website and asked for a return shipping label and a refund. He admitted he knew of the defect before shipping it out to me but shipped it anyways and advised I keep the sheath and gave me a full refund. I just tried to purchase a different sheath from his website DeltaSheath.com, as a gift for a relative that is a retired Army war veteran, and he refunded my money stating he is refusing to do any business with me. I guess it's best in the end because I certainly don't want to do business with someone like this but I am curious, has anyone else run into this problem with this manufacturer? I just find it odd that someone would deny themselves business over their own mistakes and blame the buyer. Very strange.

Hello,
I just received my order in the mail and tried on the Delta Shield™ Mini OLIVE Leather Belt Sheath, however, I cannot appendix carry this sheath as advertised in your Customer Photos. I have 3 belts, all are 1.5" wide belts and only one fits through the openings on the back of the sheath and the remainder of this belt has no where to go as there is no room to loop it back into the sheath leaving an excess of belt flapping out. Also, there is a minor defect on the front of the sheath where a small spec of leather was scratched off. I was willing to accept this minor flaw as I really like the appearance of the sheath, however, since the sheath is completely incompatible with appendix carry as advertised, can you send me a return shipping label to have the sheath returned for a full refund? Thank you.
OK I will issue your refund.

And to make matters easier, you can keep the sheath.

After you get your refund, I urge you to keep trying. As you can see in the picture it does work. The leather is supposed to be very tight when new as it will stretch over time. I use a thick piece of leather to make the back loop assembly because that will receive the stress of wear and tear over time and has to hold onto your belt regardless of how it is worn. Unfortunately, that same thick leather makes it very difficult to get the belt through the first several times.

Since I made your sheath by hand I know there is a very small speck on the front. Apologies for that. I honestly did not see that until it was finished. I should have tossed it aside and made a new sheath for you.

I understand it can be difficult in the beginning to get the belt to work, but once you get it to work, I think you'll enjoy it. I wore my PSK EDC on my own mini shield in appendix carry almost two years and often forgot it was there. Tip: try loosening the straps with a screwdriver or something similar to help stretch out the leather enough to get the belt started.

Anyway, your refund will show up in a few days. Enjoy the sheath.

Nothing but good business dealings I’ve had with them. To be fair that’s only been like 2-3 sheaths. That is interesting though

He issued you an immediate refund without question, AND, he gifted you a free sheath for your aggravation. He basically lost money over this- his time/labor, materials and shipping, yet he continued being very professional/polite towards you. He even took the time and shared some wisdom regarding his leather sheaths; in the end it appears to me, that he was overall very generous due to you being overly picky as well as a difficult customer to please.

You yourself admitted that this sheath did in fact work with 1 of your 3 belts. That surface spot flaw in the leather would've been a moot point after a few days of carry. After reading the communication between the 2 of you, I can completely understand him not wanting to do any further business with you.

Personally, had this been me, I would've just moved on.... and not made such a big drama here trying to trash him over you basically being butt hurt. So he doesn't want to deal with you anymore. Be a man and accept that he has the right to run his business the way he see's fit.

Enjoy your free sheath.

Yeah, at $80 bucks for a 3oz. piece of leather, you damn right I'm picky. I offered to send the sheath back and he could've done whatever he wanted with it. Also, you have no idea the effort it took for me to get the sheath over that one belt and the damage it caused to my belt. And for the record, me attempting to purchase another sheath that was larger as a gift for a relative was me trying to show my appreciation for the refund. Obviously, I am not the one that is butt hurt, he is.

Its not uncommon for seller and buyer to disagree about what constitutes a problem with any type of order. I have had a similar experience, where the seller immediately made it right, but did not want to do any further business with me. I continued to be polite, and respected his decision. It’s just a learning experience, and forces the buyer to search for another more compatible seller.

All five of your posts on BF is negative feedback on the maker.

I tagged him so he could respond if he wanted.

No harm, no foul.

Pics of the defect? I am having a hard time seeing how the maker knew the defect was present when he shipped it, immediately agreed that a refund was warranted, and then said I don't want to sell you another sheath. That whole progression looks like he's trying to KEEP customers, not snub their future business.

LMAO, I beg to differ.

First off, there is no way in hell the sheath caused actual damage to your belt unless your belt is trash or you are a nearly non-functional idiot. Like the man said, get a screwdriver and loosen it up a little. They make em tight because they loosen over time. Much better to have it too tight at first and have it just right when it’s broken in, than too loose to start and floppy after break in.

Secondly, $80 is not all that much for a quality leather sheath. Sure, you can be picky like you have chosen to be, but for the time and materials I’ve paid much more.

Third of all, you clearly are the one who’s butthurt here. He isn’t posting sh!t all over the place - you are. Seems like you’re just big mad because you couldn’t get another one of those sweet sheaths. If you hated the first one bad enough to complain here, why try to order another? 🤔

If I were you I’d consider myself fortunate to get a nice free sheath and walk on.

Sounds to me like the business made a wise choice. You sound like a real PITA.

Dude, I eat liver for breakfast. Kinda missed the mark there. Try again.

Just because you're fine with getting ripped off, doesn't mean I have to be. Also, did you not read? The second sheath wasn't for myself. It was going to be a gift for a relative who only carries vertically and has no ability to purchase it himself. I intentionally purchased a larger sheath thinking the belt loop would be larger after his seemingly warm response to my concerns and my polite response of appreciation thanking him. I'm the customer, not the expert on everything leather. It wasn't until after I received an error that my credit card could not be validated and further stated to use a different credit card, that I contacted him but received no response. I then used the same card but used a different email address and it successfully went through and immediately realized he had banned me. It was only then I finally get a response to my inquiries. This is when I posted this inquiry. Just curious, as to how or what I did wrong with absolutely no explanation but that I was "Over-entitled" for him knowingly sending a defective sheath. Maybe you should have a little more knowledge about the situation before you go firing off, youngin.

I totally agree! Hence the reason for this post. Believe it, this is exactly how it transpired. I'm new to this and have no idea how to attach the photo. I'm trying to add via the Insert Image but it is asking for URL. Please advise and I will gladly post.

How exactly did you get ripped off?

The seller clearly made the right choice in not selling to you again. Who gets "ripped off" by a seller and then immediately buys from them again? If you are going to come here and trash a maker, your argument needs to at least make logical sense.

So he admitted to knowingly sending a defective sheath, gives me a refund and acts like he wants to keep my business and then shadow bans me? Is this too difficult for you to comprehend?

Thanks for the entertainment with my coffee this morning. I seriously doubt you are going to get any sympathy here. Sometimes it's hard to look at ourselves and sometimes these forum threads don't turn out the way you expect.

I'm curious, did you "try loosening the straps with a screwdriver or something similar to help stretch out the leather enough to get the belt started"?

This is one of those unfortunate circumstances where everyone is a bit wrong and everyone is a bit right.

Yes the vendor did admit a problem with your order and ship you an item that was not perfect. Yes the vendor rectified it with a full refund and then moved on.

Yes you were entitled to a full refund which you received. Yes the vendor is allowed to decide who he does and does not do business with in the future.

Did this transaction require you opening this thread.........? No, I don't believe so.

You received a full refund and a free sheath, the vendor has moved on.......so should you.

The Maker lost money dealing with you, was prompt and professional throughout and decided to cut his losses by not dealing with you in the future.

Everyone here clearly states they will only sell to those members they wish to do business with. The above Maker also has that prerogative.

The fact you came here to complain about him shows he made the right decision.
