just recently came across Demko Knives and they caught my eye. I’ve always been a Strider, Hinderer, Microtech, spyderco guy over the years. Reviews of the Demko Knives seem really positive and most people that have their knives love them. I’ve come to not really care for liner locks and always gravitated toward frame locks, probably just because the knives I preferred had them. I also prefer not feeling like mu hand is being forced into certain grips on knives, does the Demko cause this? Can you choke up on the knife behind the blade, or is there not enough room for index finger without making contact with cutting edge? Can anyone with more experience with them provide more information on overall experience. I’m debating picking one up, would just like to get more information.

Thank you!

I suppose it really depends upon the thickness of your fingers, but I can get my right index finger behind the sharpening choil and rest it on the front of the frame with my thumb on the serrated spine for more control...but I would caution one to be quite careful as a slip could mean stitches.

I think the AD20 is a great knife...and highly recommend it. I love mine.

I have a 20.5, which is a bit smaller than the 20. I have medium sized hands and I can use the front area as a finger choil if the occasion requires it.
But the knife is also completely balanced and usable without using the front as a finger choil.

Yes you can choke up on the blade easily, it's clearly designed for that. They are great knives, the lock is possibly the best ever invented. Only possible issues are the Ti handles are quite heavy (but you can get CF or micarta instead) and the standard blade is pretty thick (which may be good or bad depending on your use). The handle is not quite the most ergonomic I've ever held but is good. It may be perfect for larger hands.
