Hey gang, don't get upset with me, or respond by telling me to just go online and find the specs. I have been online and I need to learn faster and from those of you who are educated on the subject. So do me a favor, help me out so I can reduce my learning curve time. In regards to Demko knives, is the AD20 at 3.6" for the blade the largest knife? I have not seen a 4" Demko? Also, this is what I am very curious about, what is the difference between the regular AD-20 and the AD-20S (the slim version)? Is the handle slimmer or more narrow than the regular AD-20? Appreciate any feedback from a Demko fan!

It sounds like you're mainly curious about the AD20 variants, rather than all Demko designs.

The AD20 and AD20S have the same handles and their blade length is identical. The S stands for "slim," so the AD20S uses thinner blade stock. While that makes it thinner (and lighter) overall, it's only because of the blade (again, the handles are the same).

The AD20 and AD20S are the longest in the "family." The AD20.5 is shorter.

There are also some differences when it comes to country of origin. AD20 = made in the USA. AD20S in D2 steel = made in the USA using domestic and imported (Taiwan) parts. AD20S in other steels = made in the USA. AD20.5 = made in Taiwan.

Dadpool, you are very kind! Thank you sir, that just sped up my learning process! Perfect!

Happy to help! :)

Also, there are lots of Demko knives, including many in the AD20 family, over in the Den of Demko:

Does anyone have a guess what a fair price would be for a Demko MG AD20S Smooth Titanium Sheepsfoot? I see them for $625 or a little more on websites, but nobody has them in stock.

I mean, sky's the limit on the secondary market. IMO the retail price of the Ti version is fair (comparable to a Hinderer + Ti show side scale), but only you can decide how much over that price you're willing to pay.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

If you want 4", check out the Cold Steel 4 Max. It's basically a 4" AD10.

OP - I'll offer you my honest opinion: all demko knives are significantly overpriced. I say so as someone who loves the tri ad lock and view it as the strongest lock ever made.

I would have to agree with you, but they sure are popular right now. And I think people are appreciating not having to fuss with a lockbar or liner lock.

Does anyone know what the "MG" stands for on Demko knife model designations? I know it means it's a made in USA model as opposed to made in Taiwan, but I'm curious to know what the acronym is derived from.

Machine Ground, as opposed to hand ground.
