Denim blue jeans with a gusseted crotch?

I have been wearing Wranglers for a long time but, they aren't working too well for me now. I have been hiking a lot so, my calves, thighs, and buns are relatively large compared to my waist. When I "high step" (~30 inches lift in one step), I typically tear the the Wranglers at either the bar tack in the crotch or across the leg at the crease between my thigh and butt cheek.

Who makes denim blue jeans that might fit me and have the room and flexibility to deal with the stress I put on my jeans? I'm thinking a gusseted crotch is a requirement for the "high steps". I also like heavy denim so, thin jeans that wear out quickly with abrasion won't work.

THANKS!

Have you tried some that are looser fitting?

Or maybe some of the "tactical" pants? I really like the Woolrich Elite pants. Jeans are often cut and sized funny- even within one brand.

Second the Duluth Trading. They aren't cute little fashion jeans, they are work pants.

I meant more of a baggy cut. The wranglers I had were cut pretty slim to the leg. I have always preferred baggy jeans. Almost all companies used to make them, but now they are hard to find. A gusseted crotch is probably the best choice.

Also, tactical pants have gusseted crotches, and are usually double layered in the knees and seat. Not really helpful if you are set on jeans, but I thought I would throw out the option. I find them to be more comfortable than many jeans, with a better pocket design.

Thanks for the clarification. I have an aversion to "baggy" jeans and was hoping to get some stretch or movement flexibility. If the pants leg cuff lifts or the waist/belt line drops to accommodate movement, that's fine with me.

Tactical pants would be fine on the weekends but, where I work they would not be acceptable during M-F.

Wrangler RIGGS have the gussett!!! Also the 31MWZ relaxed fit (no gussett) for us older fellers that don't wear or like the "STRANGLERS" (original fit Pro Rodeo 13 MWZ).

I wear both of the first 2!!!

My Stepdad used to say:grumpy:(bless his soul) "34's fit 35's feel good so I buy 36's":D:p

How do the Duluth Trading Firehose pants wear? Are they excessively stiff? Do they shrink when washed?

For sizing, are they true to size with normal Wrangler and Levi jeans? Are they overly generous in their cut (I wear 2" over in Wranglers)?

THANKS!

They are actually quite comfortable, no shrinkage that I noticed, cut generously. I always wash em when I get em before wearing for the first time.
Hard wearing, hard working pants with deep pockets .
One other thing, they come with a large slider and pull tab on the fly zipper, easy to find.

Wrangler Riggs are very comfortable and have the gusset. They also have a leather reinforcement on the right hand pocket where your knife pocket clip would ride. Most of my knives are very tight fitting in that spot. Workingperson.com has pretty goodprices, free shipping and sells knives at good prices too. I am not affiliated with that site, I just happen to like them.

Back when I was in college and martial arts big time, I had some of those Chuck Norris jeans. I liked them. What
