Hello All,
I recently purchased a ZT 0350KW with a satin bead blast blade and I also got a ZT 0350KW with the stonewashed blade I put these 2 side by side and cannot tell a difference

Do they look identical or do you all think that one of the places sent me the wrong one

Left: bead blast
Right: stonewash

There should be some noticeable difference in the two finishes. Sometimes the bead blasts run a bit toward the dark gray...the stonewash can look like scratches or snail trails if not done right.

The bead blasted finish tends to be pretty fine and uniform across the entire blade (minus scratches from use). The stonewash is going to have the irregular scratches inherent with that type of finish. My 0350KW is also one of the stonewashed ones. It isn't as heavy/coarse of a stonewash as is typically found on the newer ZT's (like the 0562CF Blues Bender posted above).

Ok thanks guys I'm thinking either knife works sent me wrong one or they actually have the knife labeled wrong on their site.. I wouldn't care but I need both of these for collecting purpose.. They both definitely look stonewashed..

Stone Washing is a process we use to use in machine shops to DE BURR Parts, parts were tumbled in a machine with polishing stones. Worked out well many years ago, and I am sure much has not changed.

Well I just noticed on both boxes it says satin blade so that would be the bead blast.. Am I correct?

Anyone on here have the ZT 0350KW with Stonewash blade?
If so, does it say Stonewash on the box?

I was told on here before that the earlier ones were bead blast then later on they went with the Stonewash but it was still labeled as ZT 0350KW

I would not worry about it much. There was some variation in the laser markings and the actual knives around the time that BladeHQ started selling the stone washed version, knifeworks had their own specific run made which was stated to be the blasted finish.

Blasted finishes do not reflect light well at all, think of the way the Sebenza handles look. Blasted finishes will show wear much more readily than any of the others, because of the way the surface looks. It also increases the ability for th steel to rust because in essence the pores of the steel are open (think of the texture of a sheet of sandpaper).
Stone washed finishes look like the ZT 0562 posted above, they reflect light but it is made to look as if it is somewhat "beat up", in order to hide scratches and such. Think of the way particle board looks, it's kind of the same aesthetic.
Satin finish is when you have a nice and clean. somewhat polished finish where the grind pattern goes in only one direction. Think of about Spyderco knives, 99% of them are satin finished. It won't be a full polish, but it will be nice and clean with distinctive and uniform grind lines.

If you want to upload pictures to the forums, use a photo hosting site, just keep the size of the pictures reasonable. FLickr, imgur, photobucket are a few to name, and they all have tutorials/instructions on how to get pictures to show up on forums.

Thanks, the only reason I'm stressing this is because I am collecting all of the 0350 models and since they have 2 different variations in the blade on the 0350KW I wanted both of them
