Hello fellow members,
Although I have only owned two from the brand I am fascinated by Direware knives. I have owned an M8 and Hyper 90 and am just amazed by the quality they pour into their knives at what I would consider a very reasonable price. These days quality steels/materials, seamless inlays, and unbelievable attention to detail don't come cheap but somehow they seem to incorporate all of these aspects into their knives and do it at a very high level. I realize not everyone is into flipper type knives, but to me, these knives have some of the best actions out there with a detent, unlike any knife I have handled. The sound they make when flipped is unique and almost reminds me of an OTF auto knife. Engaging and disengaging the lock bar has been effortless on both that I have owned, with absolutely no lock stick at all (I am guessing they carbidize the lock face). Both examples I owned had just about drop shut action once the lock bar was disengaged and the blade snaps back into place in the closed position with absolutely no play or wiggle once closed. I'm looking forward to purchasing more knives from this excellent maker and I look forward to any thoughts or insight you may have on the brand. Feel free to post pictures of what you have.

A grail with carbonfiber show side. Pretty pricey regardless. Hate the recurvs and crazy grinds they do though. I may never get one.

I don't understand why they don't use dual row bearings with such a big blade.

My Hyper 90 does have the full carbon fiber show side and it is beautifully done. I agree with you on the crazy grinds they use at times but both that I have purchased had simple grinds that were very well done and both were among the sharpest if not the sharpest knives I have owned. I have never need to take mine apart so didn't realize they only used a single row bearing system but interesting.

Eric makes great knives at a very fair price. I had one of the first Hyper 90s ever made. The flipping action was addictive and the build quality was off-the-charts good. I just found that, for me, the knife was way too thick for EDC and the blade on mine wasn't particularly sharp. Great fun while I had it, though!

So you had a Hyper 90 back when they were making the thicker frames. They seem to have really trimmed down all of their knives with the exception of the pocket clip. That thing is as big as some knives.
