I used a flea market special at work a cricket copy, the s shaped blade and all. I decided to get a cricket with the serrated edge and it seemed perfect at first. Now I have a rolled edge, from cutting a strip of plastic to open a bottle (like jugs of milk have). It's still sharp and can cut cardboard and all but I'm no better off than I was with my flea market special. The serrations are long and pointy, and apparently weak. The fact that it is a totally serrated edge makes it difficult (impossible so far) to make the edge non-rolled. I've done the same thing with my benchmade 705 and my kershaw leek and hadn't had that happen. I really expected the worst with the leek as that is such a fine edge,I refer to it as my "folding scalpel".

You didn't let the real Cricket see the flea market special did you?? It may have just given out on you as a form of punishment for your sins :) I would give Spyderco a call, they should be able to help you out. Although they don't sharpen serrations (I believe), if the edge rolled using it for standard chores, I am sure they can get it back to a factory edge

Try sharpening the back of the serrations at an angle (use your sharpmaker with the edges of the triangles). A more obtuse edge will resist rolling better.

Gitarmac you got Spyderco confused with Cold steel and their weird a$$ serrations. Spyderco will sharpen any of their knifes if you send it to them. All you pay is shipping.
TheBadGuy, head over to the Spyderco forum for more details.

I straighted it out on the sharpmaker as best I could. Somehow it still feels sharp and seems to cut good, I just didn't expect the points to roll so easy. It's my work knife, I'll wait till cutting suffers before I send it back.
