I thought I might find a bubble jig useful, maybe watching the bubble will help keep my hands steady. I already had a digital angle gauge, so I added a bubble level on top.

The gold colored hinge is a jewelry box hinge, the bubble is from Amazon. A drop of superglue holds it together.

I normally grind on a vertical platen, but most people tilt their platen about 45 degrees so the bubble is easier to watch.

Hilarious. I have one of those digital angle gauges. I use it to set up my table saw to cut staves when I am making drums. Your idea never occurred to me! Wish you posted this before I bought my bubble jig! Oh well, I am happy with my oem bubble jig.

What happens when the blade heats up and you dip that rig into the quench tank? Or is there another move I'm not taking into consideration? :)
It's a neat idea you put together. Regards, Fred
