Years ago william henry made an all carbon fiber knife with a 3 inch blade, and a liner lock, it also had a purpleish pocket clip. I saw one last year for sale and didnt buy it and could kick myself. When these sold new back in 2002 they were 250.00, now all these years later they are in the 525.00 range. So they more than doubled. I know carbon fiber material went thru the roof to make, but to more than double? Id love to hear from a william henry collector as to why they doubled.

i would say its not real common for any production to double in value but it does occasionally happen, i dont think WH has the collector interest of some other brands like say disco'd spydies, so i wouldnt think it would be a common occurence for a WH to double like that..........

but it can happen.

The whole william henry collector market is rather different, i thinkits made up of rather rich guys who think nothing of dropping 1500.00 plus on a knife, and would rather not sit and chat on the computer about it.

Problem with collectibles is that the desire/demand comes and goes, what was once popular may be out of style in 10 years.

Zero way of knowing.

For the most part, very much so. Of course alot of it has to do with the model, and other varibles.

I know the T12 Superconducter, and T12 pearl/rainbow damascus that I bough a few years back have already went up. The Last superconducter that I saw sell was over 100% what I gave. The other near 100%.
Acually I can't think of any of my knives that have went up that much, that fast. Wished I had bought more of the linerlocks before they stopped making them!

sure hope you are correct since mine is 100% mint.bought it because it was lot of knife for such a light weight.don't invest in new knives because too iffy.old knives that are not funny are nearly always sure to increase.each yr.there are more collectors but only same number of old knives.ex. Marbles safety folding hunter mint in 1977 was 650 to 700$.friend of mine bid on this same type knife 7 months ago he went to 2700$ & was out bid.would offer my henry for lots less than you mentioned but do'nt know if i'm authorized to make this offer & do,nt want to be banned for illegal activity.this forum is great & i do'nt know my rights .certainly no knife is worth losing membership.

I have had one of the William Henry knives i cannot remember which one now but it won blade of the year a few years ago, they are nothing but ornaments in my opinion, the mammoth tusk or whatever the scales were made of were cracked when i got it and the knife was flimsy, i would not buy one again, if you collect knives then collect knives if you want to collect jewellery pretending to be a knife buy William Henry, in my opinion the workmanship was poor and to this day i cannot see why people like them and why they win "blade of the year" what is so great about them ? a knife is a tool but William Henry knives are more like fancy letter openers to me.

It is like watches, i would buy an Omega but i would not buy an omega just because they used mammoth tusk, some gold plated bits and some fancy metal for the bracelet.

As far as i am concerned they are novelty knives and i do not see the point in them whatsoever.
