Do you have a favorite (Orange) hunting hat?

I am looking to pick up a new hat for warmer weather (or when I have a lot of walking to do in cold weather) in blaze orange. I usually wear a wool Stormy Kromer which works great but is rather warm for walking around in anything above 40°F. I'd love it if it were made in the USA.

I've been thinking about the new Filson Orange Trucker Hat, but it may be a bit too hipster for me:

I wear a Stormy too!

I actually am a big Filson fan as well and wear a lightweight Filson cap in with the big "F" on the front when hunting in warmer weather. The problem is that the cap is just regular orange, not safety orange. A warden could probably hassle me over it if they felt like it. Plus, I don't think Filson is making it anymore, so I guess I'm really not much help, haha. Deer season here in NE is usually cold enough for the Stormy, at least lately.

I like that Filson trucker cap, I'll have to check that out. Hope you find something!

I don't normally wear hats due to the warm weather, but that Filson looks like a classic to me, and it's bound to be top quality. Besides..., nobody in South Georgia knows what a hipster is, OR cares. So..., that hat would be welcome in any roadhouse cafe or deer camp in the State. Happy hunting!!!

Hats with a peak on them catch and funnel cold wind onto your forehead, think ice cream headache. If it's not bitter out, you should be fine.

Hats of the Tyrol as the Italian Alpini wear !! It has a feather also ! LOL

I have a camo orange ball cap and a camo Orange mad bomber. I just pick based off needed insulation.

What do you mean "hats with a peak"?

The duck bill, peak, eye protector. They can be a scoop to funnel the cold onto your forehead in even a light breeze. The colder it is, the less breeze it takes, out in the open. Turning the cap around does nothing because the brow ridge is still exposed. Great hat buddy, but perhaps not a universal choice for all potential conditions. Just my experience, you are the judge of your own conditions and needs.

Ah! I never heard the bill called the peak before... I do see what you mean though. The Stormy Kromer is only worn when I wear the hat while walking around in the winter. I'll wear a wool beanie if I'm stand hunting (It can easily be 10°F during November deer season where I hunt) I'll definitely wear a wool beanie hat.
