Does anyone make a K-bar style with a full flat tang?

Do you mean a Kabar USN MK2 style knife with a full tang? Not as far as I'm aware, Cold Steel made their Leatherneck with significantly thicker tang than the original USN Mk2 design.

Tops Szabo US Combat Knife is somewhat close. Swedge and blade are a little longer, handle too. The Mexican Army issued a full tang KA-BAR clone years ago, but the surplus one are usually well worn.

Randall models 14,15, &16sp1 are all combat knives around 7” blades and full tang.

thought he was looking for a full tang as in like a Buck 124 full tang as an example. as a kabar is a full tang just a stick style. those randalls are kinda half width full tang. maybe I'm mistaken on what he asking as im not sure what full flat means? I assumed like a Buck 124 style full width and full length tang.

jbmonkey jbmonkey I know what you are saying, and you are right of course, but they are more than half width pretty close to full width actually.

Randall considers them full width tangs. The tangs are 7/8”, the blades are around 1-1/8 wide. So technically not full width they are pretty close and certainly are not stick tangs.

I think if they had two slabs for handles and the tang showed all around you would consider them full width tangs. But the micarta handles have a channel cut for the tang, so it’s hidden on the bottom. But the handle doesn’t change the width of the tang.

Any knife with a full width tang is not going to feel as lively and quick in the hand as a nice Randall 1-8 for example. 😉

Hinderer recently made a run of KaBar knives, and he even licensed the design and name from KaBar themselves. I'm pretty sure his have a full tang.

yes Sir. agree 100%. plus we know a full tang whether stick or half width or whatever done right is very strong.....just i assumed op wanted the full width full length is all.

but wait! there is a full tang ka-bar;
however, the catch is you've gotta be a pygmy
to fully appreciate it scaled down size.
the italians made something cool
the handle & guard on extrema ratio mk2.1 can be disassembled
by unscrewing its removable pommel

The Leatherneck is a solid knife. Absolutely love mine. D2 isn’t my favorite steel, but the knife itself handles and performs excellently.

I’m sure the Becker BK7, if you don’t mind the departure from the “classic Kabar look,” is a great knife as well.

Halfbreed has this one.
