wondering if anyone owns a case hunter trapper - ben looking for a saw/knife combo for a while and its sparked interest

could someone in the know anser a couple of questions

Are both blades slipjoint?
what are the blade lengths?

thanks

Looks as if the current offering from Case is a three-blade version (all slipjoint; no locks, apparently). Clip blade, guthook and saw. Not finding any info on blade length, but seems to be standard trapper-size from Case (4-1/8" closed).

This is pattern #6354GS SS:

I know you asked about Case but, Schrade makes the 97OT. The old timer model comes w/ a pick and tweezers. The saw locks. The pre2004 USA models show up occasionally.

I've got one in hunter orange G10. I'll have to dig it up to see but I do know all three blades are slip joints. No locks. Not on mine anyway. Has the main blade, saw, and gut hook tool. Very nice folder. Probably one of my favorite purchases from them.

thanks for the info - non locking is what i need for UK laws

hoping its a 3" blade too...

heres a youtube video where Dave has picked up a hunter trapper and he gives a small overview of the knife, though in the beginning you can see he has ground down the screwdriver tip into more of an awl point.

For what it's worth, I'm looking at a couple of my own Case trappers now (one standard, the other is a 'hobo' pattern; both built on the same '54 trapper frame). Assuming the hunter trapper has the same clip blade as in the standard '54 pattern trapper, the two I have are 3-1/4" blade length, measured from the handle to the tip. If measuring from the forward end of the ricasso, the 'cutting edge' length is 2-15/16". I doubt the blade in the hunter trapper model would be any different from standard, in terms of length.
