I'll try and keep this short.

My family recently lost our dog, Truman. We had him since he was a puppy (just under 15 years).

Recently we got a new pup, and my wife had "Sebenza" on the short list of names. Not because I wanted it (I'm not *that* much of a fanboy), but because she just heard me say it once and liked the sound of the word (she had no idea what it actually meant or that it is a word from the knife world.

Anyway, my boys decided Oswald (Ozzie) was going to be the official name.

He is a total puppy, but he seems to gravitate to my lanyards and is constantly pulling my knife out of my pocket as I lay around the house...at least he has good taste;)

Very sorry for your recent loss. That's a very tough thing to deal with. My condolences. Ozzie is very cute, love this pics of him tugging on the lanyard. I really appreciate your outlook on your knife. "It's too nice not to use" comes to mind. Many people would consider it too nice to use at all! And brother, let me tell you, your large micarta DT is a phenomenal knife in every way. I really wan't the same knife myself but I associate it with you to the point that I'd just feel like a copy cat. Hopefully I can find a ladder DT version in the next year or so to complete my CF/micarta rotation.

Also, no knife here, but my buddy's dog Nella would like to make an appearance.

Beyond being very cute and lovable she also happens to look unmistakably like Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

Aw, man, get whatever you like. It is not copying. DT is good stuff and Micarta is a great handle treatment for a user.

Dogs are fun.

Sorry to hear that Unit, after we dealt with the passing of our last 2 dogs we put off getting another for a very long time. 2 years ago we decided it was time, Roxy is our new family member. Ozzie looks like he is going to be lots of fun, I love his face ... looks mischievous. Here's Roxy.

Let me join to this thread :D

Here's my Frodo. I know that his beauty is specific but he's a good boy ;)

What breed is that? He looks like a big Chinese crested.

I like the looks of him, he appears very happy.

That's naked mexican dog or mexican hairless dog or Xoloitzcuintli :D
He's very friendly and gentle.
And happy of course ;)

Not sure why, photo bucket erased some of my photos where I've hd images of my dog and knives.

Sera about your dog, hope the new pup will replace it!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know to much how it feels. I love my dogs and cats and they are like family (as I am sure most are to the people on here) so it is a hard loss. Here is a picture of Zoee (the same in my Avtar with here favorite CRK. The one that cleans her birds. She is bring it to me to be sharpened, well maybe not.

My first dog, and my first CRK. Both pocket-sized, and purpose built, while being beautiful all the same. Sally. For the record, she doesn't get her own towel at the beach, but if you get up, it's hers.

For weeks I would drop some food on the floor and call JT out of habit and no one would come it tore me up that's how Kloe got here I could not live in a house without a dog.

Miss my friend.Passed away month ago.

Sad to here it Rex R. I think I mentioned before but we waited years to get another dog after our last 2 dogs passed. Just didn't want to deal with that heartache again. We made the decision to get another dog a couple of years ago and realized all over what a lot of joy they bring into your life. They are the one family member that never questions anything and is always so happy to see you or receive any little bit of attention or kindness you share with them.

Looks like your friend had a good life and I am sure you shared lots of great adventures together those are things to remember.

Now to be completely honest the last 2 dogs we had were Samoyeds and it wasn't entirely about the heartache. Although the stories are funny now those 2 got into so much trouble over the years we questioned our sanity more than once. A couple of things I remember, one when we came home from work and they had dug about 50 holes in 400 square foot deck we had on the front of the house and when they got bored with that game they lovingly chewed the corners off all of the window sills. Another time we had tenants in our basement that went to work and left there door open when they returned there laundry was scattered all over the back yard, some of it used to engage in a little tug of war, Ah memories :) I was always breaking those two out of jail for one thing or another and I could have probably bought a sport car with the money it cost to fix up all of their mischief but we still loved them right to the end.
