Payed 40$ for this flashlight had it for about 2 weeks or less really bright clean light nice flood far throw. At work today went into the trailer where we keep over flow items and I need to look for something so I pull my keys out and switch it once and it turned on. Someone needed to talk to me so I turned it off real quick had a conversation when I turn it back on it flashes for a second and goes off. I have tried many different batteries, looked at the inside of the light and it looks no different from when I bought it which means that the led burned out that is supposed to last 50,000 hours. I will not be buying any more Fenix products again.

Golddust, I am not that familar with the Fenix brand flashlights, but does this model have different light levels, strobe, or anything that you need to hold the on/off switch down for as long as 8-10 seconds? Reason I ask is a few years back, I bought a Photon Micro-Light & got in home, took it out of the package, light stays on for about 10 seconds, goes out. This went on for about 5 minutes, thought I had a damaged model. Went back to the store, told the guy what was going on, he pushes the button down, light goes on, but he still holds the button down. 10 seconds later, light goes off, & I thought "see, my point exactly". Within 2-3 seconds like comes back on & stays on until he shuts it off. Says it is programmed with a "demo" light to stay on only for 5-10 seconds. First line on the instruction sheet tells you how to shut this feature off & set it for normal use. Yes, I do read instruction sheets now instead of putting them in the gun room drawer . . . :)
Hope something like this is the case with yours, if not, maybe you can still get it replaced.
Good luck.
Be safe.

i think fenix has a 1 year warranty so you should be able to send it in no problem. FWIW i have been carrying my fenix L2T since july 09 and it hasnt let me down yet.

Shipping to China isn't economical, at all. To me, that means the 1 year warranty goes to a No warranty state since shipping is worth half of what the light is worth.

When you buy the lights they are not shipped from china, so why assume you have to ship it there for a warranty issue?

Yep... IIRC, Fenix has a warranty center in California. I've never owned a Fenix, only SureFires, but I use to spend quite a bit of time on Candle Power Forums, and the reviews of the Fenix lights was very good

The logic behind your thought is puzzling, Buy a product with a warranty, it breaks shortly after purchase, Fail to call or email the place of purchase, call the product garbage, then tell everyone to not buy one.

+1.

Fenix have a good reputation, as do the majority of dealers that sell them.

Even handbuilt, money no object items occasionally fail, and its not unheard of for a mass produced item to fail, hence the warranty (and consumer protection legislation).

Perhaps contact the seller or warranty dept.

I've got over 7 Fenix flashlights. I also gave out over 10 of them to friends and family for birthdays and such. All these lights have performed well from day one and still going strong.
Sorry bud, you either got a lemon, or you're trolling like no tomorrow.

Yep,

same here. I had a p3d I have carried as my edc for several years and have used every day. I liked it a lot but just recently decided after all these years that I would replace it and bought a non-Fenix replacement a couple of weeks ago based upon specs. I didn't like it as much as the three or 4 year old p3d so I sent it back and bought a pd30 that is now my edc. I also own and have given several other Fenix's to family. Among some of the others that I own is the tk40 light. I have had great luck with Fenix and really think highly of their products.

Call their warranty service and see what they will do for you before trying to convince me they are garbage. Every company has crap that breaks, a good company will take care of it when it happens. See what they are willing to do for you.

I had an early Fenix (L1) that went bad after the warranty period, and a Fenix dealer replaced it for me with a newer model at no charge. Seriously, talk to the dealer you bought it from.

I have had bad luck with fenix lights as well...I bought a dozen models at a trade show and gotten rid of most of them...they come out with new models and it is tough to get replacement parts..I finally got around to opening and using the same model you have and it would not work at all. It was well over the 1 year warranty..I am sticking to my surefire.

I've been using and abusing a Fenix L2D-Q5 since 2008 with no hint of a flicker.

I would strongly recommend Fenix lights to anyone who asked.

I like the TK-10, medium size, mounts in a 1 inch scope ring and has good output and runs for a long time. It's a fairly lightweight setup.

The only flashlight I've ever thought was absolute junk was a 4Seven's Preon, which friend a battery and it leaked acid all over the internals. The switches on those are the worst.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
That is really stupid to think the entire brand is crap when you get a lemon.
It happens on everything.
I don't think there's a single product make that didn't have a lemon come out once in awhile.

I've got a L1T going on 4.5 years and plan on replacing it whenever it dies, problem is, it just won't die. I did have an issue with the tailswitch a little under 2 years in and they sent me a fresh one out with instructions, replaced myself no problems. I have nothing but good for Fenix.

You Got A Bad Light Which Happens In This Unperfect World.
I Have The LD15 A Have No Problem With Mine.
Every Manufacture Will Have Some Kind Of Problem.
It`s Not Fair To Pick On Fenix Flash Lights Because You Could Have The Same Problem With SureFire, JetBeam Ect.
I Am A Flashaholic And Have Many Different Brand Lights And Have Had Some Kind Of Problem With Other Brands.
Call Or Email The Dealer You Purchased Your Light From And I`m Sure They Will Fix Or Replace It For You....:D

Agreed. I have plenty of fenix and none of them have failed. Jetbeam, nitecore, surefire, etc., all comes with warranty, so contact your dealer first before coming here with such a baseless suggestion.
