What are your thoughts on the DPx Hest 4.0 in Magnacut? How's the fit/finish and action?
I recently bought a Mini Adamas and I absolutely love it, but now I want another knife 🌝 perhaps something similar. I've had my eyes on the new Hest ever since it came out 👀

I've had a few Dpx over the last 5 years and fit/finish has been excellent. This looks great and I'll bet it will be awesome. If they do a lefty I will be a buyer.

I've also really enjoyed several DPXs, including the HEAT, HEST and HEST/F Urban (my personal favorite). They seems super slicey for a thick blade, and they just fit my hand well. Love the deep carry clips. I might have had 1 or 2 with, lock stick but it resolved quickly with use.

I had a Heat a while ago. It had terrible lock stick. I also noticed some rust in the pivot area despite the blade being rust resistant, idk it might've been from the yellowish factory grease or whatever, but I didn't like the condition in which the knife came, so I returned it the same day. I did like the ergos and the looks of it though..

I have the Black G10/Titanium in 154CM. Action is super smooth, lock-up is solid. I think I got mine in 2017 or so....
I see they still make those, and the american made s35vn in full ti, but this new one's been tempting me because it's got Magnacut blade

Didn't know DPX made an Urban in G10/Titanium 154 CM.

I have the original USA-made Urban -- it's all Ti and S30V.

Could yours be a Hest?

Unless you have a separate glass breaker and a bottle opener, or u don't need them at all, idk what's goofy about that. They might come handy in some situations.
When I think of bottle openers, I think of adult drinkee drinks. Things I don't mix with alcohol: cars, guns, knives, women. No offense to the womenfolk herein.

For bottles that really need to be opened and shared: a bottle opener.

For glass that needs to be broken, if my Kung-Fu Mankind Socko punch isn't enough, a hammer.

Yes, yes, I know. A SAK has a bottle opener and sometimes a corkscrew. However, I'm sure the Swiss have their reasons.

It's a HEST/F. I think the "Urban" designation is for the smaller blade. (2.9" vs. 3.3"). In this pic, you can see the 154 CM on the blade. Another family photo.

Edit: The HEST/F Urban Frame Lock Knife G-10 (2.9" Satin) is still for sale in 154 CM, at least in one major HQ that sells blades.

what about lock stick?
I did have lock stick on one and easily solved that. Seems the only time it did it was when I flipped it really hard other wise no issue. Simple reface was good to go. I doubt there is any lock stick issues with inserts on these new versions.
