Drilling hardened steel - easy/cheap way

This question/topic come often here ..... so here it is , easy and cheap way is to use ceramic tile drill bits . . . . this is ball from SKF ball bearing :D

I hope that I have chosen right words for thread name and will easy come when someone search forum for data about this drill challenge :)
 
Just make sure they're actually carbide tipped masonry/tile drill bits. Some of the cheap bits, such as those that often come in the lower priced bit sets (you know, like 150 driver bits for $19.99) aren't carbide tipped, and you'll be lucky to even get through soft stone with them, much less steel.

I've had good luck with Bosch brand carbide tipped bits, and they're usually pretty cheap at the local big box store.
 
Lakeshore carbide drills have drilled everything like butter for me. I however have not drilled into a 64hrc ball before!
