My Saturday effort at the forge. This is one of my favorite styles and similar to the knife that I carry in the woods and keep in a day pack under the seat of my pickup.
Forged from 1095 high carbon steel
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace to Rc 58-60 with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to Rc 58-60
I pay attention to creating a fine grain throughout the blade
The spine is slightly over 1/8 inch thick at the choil and distal taplers to the butt and the point
Flat grind with a Scotchbright finish and forged texture on the flats
Professionally stabilized spalted maple handle.
Overall length: 8 1/2 inches
Blade:4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
SOLD delivered within the US. My PayPal and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com
The blade is not blue but the sky was when I took the photos so I got a nice reflection. Maybe someday my photography will get better
