lilknifekid, unbelieveable job man, congrats. Tim Allen would be proud of you... :) How long did this take & what is the appox. weight that's left for the canoe? Have you been out on a maiden voyage yet? Piece of work, good job.
Be safe.

i was just think about those things. this is the first one i have really seen though. way cool!! seeing it though just made me sad to know that i am not man enough to tackle such a hard core task. :/ do you have any more pics of the proses i would be interested in seeing them.

I started working on it in September and only worked on the weekends. Ill get some pics of it in progress and of the tools I used tomarrow. They were homemade adzes. And Im guessing it weights about 200 pounds. Its a monster.

Heres some more photos. Most of them look the same. It handles great. And thanks for all the compliments.

How was the log cut in half before you began diggin it out? Looks like a pretty clean cut!

Thanks for sharing,

Ken

The lumber mill cut the log in half for me. I still have the other half to be made into a canoe.

That's really freakin' awesome! I've never seen an actual burn for a canoe, and now I can say I have!
