Hi everyone.

I was wondering what can be used for dying of leather other than that one can buy from a leather shop? I saw a video on making a sheath for a sebenza on youtube where the guy used some sort of blackish paint?

Thank you in advance. o yes. what rope is normally used for stitches?

PS. I know dy dying isn't the correct spelling I just cant find the right word in my dictionary. Apologies.

There's this thing called vinigaroon that old cowboys use....get a half gallon of white vinegar, throw some rusty nails in it (about 6 or 8 of them)and let it set for about a week. It will get all funky looking...brown soupy like......now pour some in a container and dunk your leather in it for a minute or so.....the leather will turn grey, dark grey, then black......rinse it in water and let it dry.
I've tried it and it works very well.....
There's a chemical reaction between the rusty vinegar and the leather that causes it to turn black.
