Howdy all, I’ve been on BF for a long time… and I’ve lusted after an Ed Fowler knife the whole time. Is he still alive/making knives? If so, where available? I did a little googling and came up with nothing. Thank you in advance for your help….

He's still around although he had a bad scare a couple of years ago. I think that Chris Amos makes most of the knives now. Hopefully he will be at Blade next week.

I got to meet Ed and Chris in the Pit at Blade in 2016, sat around for awhile and looked at each other's knives- it was really late.
What a great memory! Thanks for the thread/memory jog

Also been wondering about Ed these days. I met him at Blade probably 20 years ago and bought a small hunter from him. He was highly involved in influencing my fascination with custom knives. My introduction to this world was his first knife talk video, and I was amazed at the work that went into making a knife.

Heres a horrible image I made when I was young of that knife. I couldn't afford a larger more badass one so I came home with this little piece and it felt amazing in the hand. Eventually sold it, wish I didn't.

I lived on the Willow Bow Ranch and worked with / learned from Ed and Chris from January until June this year (after a decade with James Behring / Behring Made, now solo in Oregon). Ed is very much active and working, and still had knives from the show when we last spoke in June. Give him a call: 307-856-9815

Ed is still making his own knives- Chris assists with finishing and making sure nothing is missed but rest assured Ed will make his own until he's six feet under... and probably will go down with a hammer in his hand.

Ed is still alive and making knives! Just talked to him on the phone last week. We talked dogs and knife making. I've been fortunate to be able to work with Ed and Chris for almost a decade now. My knife making wouldn't be where it is today without Ed graciously opening his shop doors to me and sharing all the knowledge I could soak up. If you are on the fence about buying a HEPK knife don't be! But it's a slippery slope I tell ya, once you use an Ed Fowler style knife and get used to it, nothing will ever feel right again. Every part of these knives are designed to work and work well.
