Hi all. I'm wanting to add duct tape to my EDC. I was wondering how many of you guys EDC duct tape and how you do it. I've seen some of the more common methods such as flattening a roll or winding a small amount around a bit of dowel rod, etc. I was wondering if any of y'all had any of your own creative, space-efficient solutions for the EDC of duct tape. Cheers!

I roll it round a credit card and put it in my back pocket. I use it all the time, and I will edc it for the rest of my life.

I carry a backpack cause im in college so i carry a roll of 1" gorilla tape in there, but if im sans pack i use an old school ID just wrapped

I took a piece of paracord about 8 inches long folded it in half, tied the ends together in a overhand knot, then wrapped 10-12 feet around the cord above the knot below the loop and hang then from the loop end, and have hung them from my keys and my bag.

I carry a few feet of camo duct-tape around a mini-bic lighter. Comes in pretty handy every so often, and camo is just plain classy. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I liked the lighter idea best, so that's what I did. I like how it takes care of two EDC needs at once (lighter plus tape). I didn't measure it as I rolled it but I estimate this is about 10 feet of tape around my bic lighter. Sweet.

I also like the credit card idea. I assume you guys are doing it lengthwise. I'm gonna do that one too.

Thanks.

I do something similar with a 2 1/2" cotter key. Then you can hang it from a keyring or biner by the eye end.

That sounds cool. Got a pic?

Horrible picture but hopefully you can make heads and tails out of it.

Do you EDC a water bottle (ie. Nalgene)? If so you can wrap duct tape around the bottle (Cody Lundin gets credit for idea). This is how I carry duct tape.

Ok, how are you guys using duct tape in an EDC environment? I love Gorilla tape and carry a roll in the Powernoodle mobile command vehicle, but it never gets used. I like the idea of carrying it, though, if I can make use of it.

Pure genius!!!
I will be stealing this idea.

Used a mini lighter this time. Even more space efficient. Again I did not measure, but estimate this to be about 8 feet of tape.

Pet hair on clothing is my daily curse. :(

I carry a roll of electrical tape, it come in handy for everything, does not dry out and takes up little space.

I love the 1" Gorilla tape roll. It doesn't take that much space or weigh all that much and is still immensely useful. The Gorilla brand does seem to be just a bit stronger than Duck tape brand and doesn't come in all those annoying colors or patterns like this.

I also wrap it around a lighter. I actually use mine quite a bit because it is handy. Definitely one of my most used EDC items alongside the knife and flashlight.
