What type of pen do you guys carry around? For awhile I just had a standard bic/papermate until it had dried out when I needed it. I've gone a little pen crazy in the last couple months....

from left to right...Fellhoelter tibolt, hinderer extreme duty, investigator, and fisher space pen bullet.

Feel free to post up!

I carry a black/aluminum Hinderer investigator everyday, freaking love it!

...no pic, tomorrow, I promise. :D

I love my Fisher space pen. I use it all the time and keep it right next to my knife and flashlight.

Here's what I've been rockin lately.
I love the titanium ED. The stainless version is a close second. The aluminum may go up for trade, just not feeling it.

I have been eyeballing some pens, but I have hard time justifying the buy. I just don't see myself needing one! At work, I have tons of pens at reach all the time and same at home. I have regular pen in my pocket organizer in my manpurse in case I need one.

Has anyone felt like this but have ended up buying one anyway, and felt like needing one?

I carry a cheap zebra pen conversion with a fisher space pen refill inside. Works for me.

I also do the Schrade "tactical" pen as well, though it takes up more pocket space. But its well made, writes well and is not spendy. I bought it for a trip to Washington, DC, where my usual man-stuff would not make it through metal detectors.

I never saw much point in a specific king of pen. To me a pen is just a pen, so long as it works and the tip isn't exposed.

Picking up Uzi tactical pen soon got tired of cheap plastic ones that keep breaking post some pics when I get it.

Here are my Waterman/Mont Blanc lil-beauties!

The main purpose of a "tactical" or EDC pen (IMO) is the fact that they're solidly made. Like another user posted, cheapo plastic pens bend and break in pockets and bags. Most tactical or EDC pens are solid aluminum or titanium and stand up to a log of abuse. I keep my Boker + bolt action pen in my back pocket and it as been scraped on concrete a lot, and it's still kickin'.

My Fisher Bullet pen used to fit in that little slot on top of the card pocket of my all-ett wallet. When the wallet wore out and I got another one the slot was too tight. So I have a Tele-Pen in there now and use it mostly for signing credit card receipts. Full size Fisher pen in both vehicles as well.

I always carry a sharpie and a pen, usually a Lamy fountain pen. The Safari is pretty cheap and a great pen. I have other fountain pens (a waterman charleston I love) but everyday I find the Lamy is durable, affordable, and it writes very well. The sharpie is just very useful in any aspect the pen is not. But then, getting into fountain pens can be dangerous.. though this was not specified as a discussion tactical pens...

I've carried this pen for over 50 years now. My dad gave it to me when I enlisted in the army not long after high school, with the request that I write home every week. It's traveled all over the world with me, and when it turned 50, the twist mechanism was funky, so I sent it in to Cross, and they replaced the guts, leaving the worn dented old Cross that I've come to love. I've tried other pens, but I alway come back to this old friend.
