Hi y'all,

Does anyone know of a good production ring-handle fixed blade like the benchmade SOCP dagger, but that has:

1. single-side edge
2. magnacut, or other quality stainless
3. edge geometry better for EDC tasks like opening boxes, letters, bags of food?
4. less than 7" overall length
5. high quality appendix carry sheath

Bastinelli \Fox piccolo mako........Different blade shape but surprisingly comfy in or out of ring while in the hand.........No pic handy😖

I just picked up this Hydra Buzzard, made out of 1.4116 or X50CrMoV15, under 7" OAL.

The benchmade SOCP and its Spartan cousin the CQB Tool are the best options in this category. Nothing else comes close.

The SOCP is not great for EDC tasks. I do have Karambits that were designed from the ground up for Utility in S90V (Straight wharncliffe edge) if interested. They are coming back from Heta treat soon.

I picked up a Kancept Niko that is a pretty cool ring knife.

The sheath rotates for apendix carry. And will even clip on to shorts and stuff.

Blade steel isn't magnacut. D2 i think.

Otherwise I think the Halfbreed cck 01 is a better version of the SOCP. better handle, better ring, a bit wider more usable blade.

And I kind of want to try the Civivi midwatch.

Single edged daggers are a waste of steel, IMO .

For SD go with DE dagger and broad enough to have good thin slicing edges .

Most EDC never involves SD . But , if it does , in your life , job , environment , then better focus on some better weaponry .

For regular EDC ring knife , single edge makes most sense . But not a dagger profile . Better to use your blade width for a SE grind .

Decent budget type for lightweight carry and use = Cold Steel Bird and Game .

needs a handle still.
