The cnc lines are gone forever... you cannot choose it as an option. North Arm only offers this finish now.

I contacted North Arms a few months ago to inquire after i discovered the change on their website and they said unless there is a high demand prompting a limited run, the smooth blade is the new standard as you mentioned so got on the waiting list (2 years I think!). Yours is the first smooth blade ive seen in the wild and i do like it although eyes are peeled for the secondary market whichever variant i can grab first although skahas dont come up often for sale it seems.

I have many of the latest super steels but in all honesty the simple Victorinox is so easy to get screaming sharp after a few passed on a stone & gets the job done for my normal daily use.
