Is that a new blade shape?

Yes, it is. This is the new Whippersnapper model that they're releasing this year. Several prototypes were available at BLADE this year, and I knew I had to have one. Seeing the guys at Olamic is always my first stop on Friday, so I was able to take my pick. There is another blade shape, which is a flat-edged wharncliffe blade style, but this was the one for me.

Thanks for the reply! I used to have a 90lb boxer named Hoke who was great with kids, dogs, and cats. He had way too much energy for my small house; I couldn't run him enough. Here's a low quality pic of him:

I'm carrying the Endura today. I just received the Hold Out 1 from the Cold Steel sale.

At the moment, I'm carrying a Tangram Progression. Haven't used it much, but it flicks open nice. Seems sturdy and slicey, for a sub-$25 knife.

Is the Whippersnapper as nice as I've heard? I've heard nothing but good things.

Yes, yes it is. The Busker is a great knife, but it's very small. I had seen folks on various knife pages I'm on expressing the idea that they wish there was a Busker "but just a little bit bigger" so that a full four finger grip was possible. I don't have specifics, but the Whippersnapper feels 100% like that's what they were going for. I have a Busker as well and while I do enjoy that knife, I may not carry it much since I can just carry this instead. Either way, both knives feel and look incredibly well made.

I have with me today my Father’s Day gift from my kids. Yes it’s purple, or orchid violet as they call it, and that’s my middle child’s favorite color so I’m ok with that.

Only you guys could make a person whip out two knives on a crowded bus for an EDC shot, but I'm glad I had an excuse to. Contego was for work and Ursa Minor is for after. I know, nothing surprising. How did I remember the flashlight but not my Ladybug..

I haven't carried any of my dozens of Kershaws in a year or more so decided to drag this one out, knock the dust off and beat around the yard pulling weeds with it. For mere pocket change (~$15 iirc) everyone should own one, a true sleeper.
