While browsing around Bass Pro today looking for a Pika I found this diamond sharpener, model 420. It consists of a handle with three different grades of diamond particles: coarse, medium and fine. I figured it was just the ticket to sharpening my daughter's kitchen knives while I was visiting.

A magnet holds the metal diamond coated surface (about 1 1/4" X 7") to the handle assembly, and can be pryed off with a finger on the end to swap out the other grits. Price was $21.99 by the way. The magnet holds quite firmly and the directions caution you about getting your finger pinched when replacing grits.

Sure enough the coarse grit took the kitchen knife edges down quickly and the medium grit finished them off very nicely. My wife said they worked great preparing our evening meal.

I don't have any problem holding edge angles when I sharpen, and this sharpener works much better than any of the small diamond coated stones I already have.

After just one use, I have to say I'm impressed, especially when you get three grades of grit all for about twenty bucks.

I haven't looked around this forum enough to know if we have sponsor/dealers. Perhaps they have the Edgecrafter Model 420 in stock. I like mine and recommend it to you. I am not a BPS or Edgecrafter employee. Just telling you about something I found.
Cheers!
U
