EDM Stones

Gesswein & falcon tool company.

Gesswein you want the die maker stones (which I’ve used and like) & Falcon I believe is the N stones.

Both work great.

Thanks for the offer Dustin. That won't be necessary. I'm going to order a bunch of them.

I ordered mine from McMaster Carr in grits 320 to 800. I prefer the wider stones, an inch wide.

I order from moldshoptools.com, the Boride CS-M stones are amazing, I call them scratch erasers :D The ones I use the most are 220 and 320 and my preferred size is 1/4" x 1/2"

Thanks everybody. I bookmarked all of these but ordered from McMaster for this batch because I was able to order single stones in each grit. The other sites look like you have to buy a box of each grit.

I ordered a box of samples last year. I’ll look up where I got them from. I like them better than sandpaper for sure.

Go to congress tools they have great prices, a large variety of stones and ship quickly.

You can buy one at a time and they have many sizes and shapes to choose from

The N grade stones are the recent ones I’ve tried and seem to work pretty nice and leave a good finish especially on small areas like swedges. They’re from falcon tool.
I only say this because if you don’t like the results you get from the ones you ordered, you may like a different grade.

I ordered a set of cheap SiC stones from Amazon just to see what they were like. I was blown away by how fast they remove scratches. I keep them soaked in ATF and won't be without them again!

Thanks fellas. While I was looking into EDM stones I was using a 1x.25x4" rough sharpening stone that was lying around my shop. I don't even remember where it came from. Even that thing has been a lot of help. Can't wait to try the EDM stones.

Do these edm stones work well for straightening grind lines? Sandpaper takes forever and my lines get washed out.
