EKA Swede 92 - a fine looking clip point

Ever since I read about the EKA Swede 60, I've been wanting this or something similar. The closest I found was the EKA Swede 92, or "Super Swede" when it used to be under the Normark Brand.

The Swede 92 is well liked in its own right, in fact online research seems to show that it was the preferred folder by British armed forces as well as users in the US:

It's a stout folder, strong lockup, no blade play or wobble. Rubber handle with brass liners. Locking system involves pressing the metal tab that has a lanyard hole. This makes the back handle smooth with no protuberances (unlike the Swede 60). Sandvik steel blade appears to be very sharp, and I really like the clip point and curve of the belly (like a good looking woman, it has the right curves!). The clip point is what attracted me to this knife. Blade has no markings at all, and is throughout the blade up to the handle. It came with a nice boxy nylon sheath with a belt loop that can be hooked on.

I think this will be my favorite for now. I have some favorite spydercos, but the clip point on this one makes it my favorite at this point.

They might have disappeared from the US market for a while, but now it seems to be back. Thanks for reading and for any responses :)

Really wished I had picked one of those up when they were on Ragnar's site. Nice Swede.

I have a Normark branded one with a combo edge. It's a good, stout folder about the size of a Buck 110. I love the way Eka does 12C27 steel. For those who like to fiddle with their knives, it can be disassembled with a coin.

I have on of those, with wood handles instead of the rubber ones. It's a great lockback, I've used mine a lot and abused it a bit at my old job (I worked as a guide on a hunting preserve). I need to pick up another one.

I have the Normark Big Swede which is brand new but about 20 years old, if this is as similar as I think it is I'm sure it will be a great knife.

The backstory to my Normark is that my Dad had this one in his drawer for forever, they used to get them when he worked on the oil rigs off Scotland and he promised my brother and me one when we passed our knife and axe badge in Scouts. Well my brother lost mine fishing and I always wanted another one and when I was home in Scotland last month he gave me the one from his drawer. Beautiful knife.

It was back in stock in an online store (worldwide knives) -(MODs, I don't think this is deal spotting , but please delete the message if you think so)

EKA makes some excellent folders. I think there is a void in the market or a lack of advertising thereof for swedish and Scandinavian folders. I know that Helle has come out with a couple. I for one think the EKA Swede 88 is pretty nifty as well.

I have the Normark branded one from Ragnar as well. Do all the EKA knives have the tip hit inside the handle to stop closure instead of the kick at the heel of the blade?

OMG, scrub; I had that exact knife! I lost it back in 1990, I loved that knife. These knives are of simple construction yet very well made and the steel is high quality. Nice knives for sure.

I could not find a kick at the base of the blade. Instead, I found the tip hit you refer to. Funny you brought that up, I was examining and thinking about it the other day. I guess that would blunt the end of the blade.

That (or was it the swede 60? are they the same?) was what I really wanted at first. BUt unfortunately, I could not find any sellers here in the US. I found a New Zealand online store, but that's too far and uncertain a purchase for me.

Anyone who has or can buy the Big Swede or swede 60 style of knife is fortunate.

EDITED TO ADD: There is a bubunga wood Swede 60 that can be purchased here, but I really like the plastic handle.

That's a Big Swede and has to be almost 30 years old, I'm hoping that one goes to my son.

Swede 92 now comes in birch (also with slightly altered blade, thicker etc):
